The Mary How Trust for Cancer Prevention is an independent, CQC registered, West Sussex charity. The Trust’s health screening service aims to spot the early signs of life-threatening illnesses such as heart disease, diabetes, bowel cancer, prostate cancer, and abdominal aortic aneurysm. We receive no statutory funding from Government or the NHS. Our service is made possible by donations, grants and fundraising.

Finance & Business Manager
Location: West Sussex & Surrey (on site role)
Hours: Preferably 37.5 per week

The Mary How Trust is seeking a strategic and driven Finance & Business Manager to run our financial and operational functions as we prepare to open a second premises in 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape the future of a well-established health charity that’s dedicated to saving lives through early detection of cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. You’ll report directly to the CEO and Finance Trustee and work alongside a passionate Senior Management Team.

What you’ll be doing:

Run the charity’s financial operations, planning and reporting

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and audits

Drive business strategy and financial sustainability

Manage business operations including HR, IT, and facilities

Contribute to governance, risk and board-level decision-making

What we’re looking for:

✔ Qualified Level 4 AAT or equivalent
✔ Experience in finance & operations, ideally within a charity
✔ Skilled in budgeting, analysis, and compliance
✔ Strategic thinker with a hands-on, solutions-focused approach
✔ Excellent communication and team leadership skills
